Preschool Field trip to Scenic Beach State Park

Anneliese's little preschool class took a field trip to Scenic Beach State Park last week. It was very bright and sunny outside so the lighting to the pictures is a wee bit skewed...but here's a glimpse of the day anywho!

Painted Ladies

Anneliese's buddy Conrad gave her a butterfly garden for her birthday. We mailed in our envelope and soon after her birthday party 5 tiny catepillars arrived in our mailbox. They ate and ate and ate until they quadrupled in size and before we knew it, they'd formed 5 little cocoons at the top of the bug container. We transferred the cocoons into the larger butterfly cage and this past week 5 beautiful "painted lady" butterflies emerged from the cocoons! We've had so much fun feeding them sugar water and sliced up oranges. This morning Anneliese released them outside.....it was stunning watching them all fly away. I highly recommend this gift for young kiddos! Entertaining and very educational!

This one random butterfly happened to land on Callie's shoulder! It made for a great picture...but this was taken only moments before she totally panicked, completely freaked out and probably formulated a not-so-healthy fear of flying creatures for the rest of her life! I mean it....utter terror!

Our fashion Diva!

The one, the only....."Ya Ya."

Callahan's most prized possessions in the whole wide world are her "ya ya & sa sa" (aka Lovie Blanket and Pacifier). I swore I'd take them away by 18-months and well, ah hem, let's just say we're still working on it :)  Look at this sweet, innocent face....could you  take them away either?!

Crazy hair day!

It was crazy hair day at Leesy's preschool...this is the hair-do she sported.

Better late than never!

So I'm only a month and a half late! Here is our family picture taken Easter morning before our church's egg hunt.
